Whether you're here for a visit, a vacation or planning to make this area your home, White Lake and the surrounding area will not disappoint.
White Lake was used by lumbermen using the waterways for transport. Timber camps first employed lumberjacks in the area around 1830 and by 1945 the upper Ottawa River watershed had 10,000 raftsmen running timber down to area sawmills.
As the land cleared, famers moved onto the land with cattle and crops and sold their produce to the camps to feed the men. The timber industry flourished until the beginning of the 20th century.
Today, with its proud history, love of all things outdoors, White Lake has become and all-season destination for vacationers. From camping to ice-fishing, boating to skiing there is something for every visitor to enjoy.
