White Lake can be your ultimate ‘stay-cation vacation' during these challenging economic times. Take a moment to connect with nature, and recharge you batteries, without spending a fortune in time, gasoline and money. It is close to home, and many activities are free, and if you have your own boat and trailer, you can spend a day on a large world-class lake, and still be home in time for dinner.

Welcome to the Ottawa Valley. White Lake is only a 60 minute drive West of Ottawa, ON, Canada and a 15 minute drive from Arnprior and Renfrew.

White Lakers Leave Mark on Sports World by Jason Marshall,
White Lake: The Later Years

And what White Laker can forget Donovan Bailey's gold medal winning run in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics? It as a day when you were proud to be a Canadian -- and a White Laker -- as Bailey's friend and trainer Mark Lindsay of White Lake celebrated the victory on the track in Atlanta. Mark, an accomplished athlete during his high school and collegiate career that included playing American university football, is now a chiropractor and played a role in Bailey's claim as the World's Fastest Man.

Mark's parents, Bud and Margaret, had extra reason to smile on that September day only four short years ago. And as a sidenote, their son also married one of Canada's most decorated downhill skiers, Kate Pace.

There are so many great fishing stories about people searching for that elusive Mike the Pike and many hunting stories about the one that got away -- and the one that's hanging on the wall. Obviously, he didn't get away.
